Off to the Venetian Hinterland

I departed Venice and headed West to Padova, a famous University Town and also visited Verona where Romeo and Juliet supposedly lived. The weather took a turn for the worst with a cold, snowy spell which made cycling, let alone paddling difficult, if not impossible

It was also a time when Italy brakes to a standstill as people prepare for Christmas and New Year, and there are many parties to attend

Fortunately I was invited to spend the holiday with a family in the quaint Eugane hills, a small hilly area in the vast plains of the Po river with quaint medieval villages, hot springs and friendly people.
